Gift Compass combines an AI gift finder with human-reviewed guides. This page describes the real pipeline — not marketing fluff — including exclusions, review stamps, and where affiliate links fit.
When you describe a recipient — relationship, age range, occasion, budget, and interests — we send that profile to a model that returns buyable gift ideas with a plain-language reason each one fits. Results are filtered for basic quality (required fields, sensible queries) before they appear. Signed-in users can exclude gifts already saved to a list so re-scouts do not repeat the same picks.
Finder prompts and post-processing steer away from vague filler, duplicate titles, and ideas that ignore the stated budget. Previous gifts on a linked list are passed as exclusions on re-scout runs. Guide audits also ban empty marketing phrases and require item counts, FAQ coverage, and valid Amazon URL shapes before publish.
Editorial guides are not auto-published from AI drafts. Guide Studio marks generated copy as drafts for review. Published guides carry a lastReviewed stamp shown on the page, plus an internal reviewDue deadline (typically 90 days). Freshness audits warn when a review stamp is missing or stale so editors re-check picks before the next stamp.
Related guides are scored at build time from shared occasion, recipient, interest tags, and title/keyword overlap — then cached so every guide page shows a deterministic set of links. Intent clusters (best-of, gifts, accessories, budget cuts) interlink as a series when editors assign a cluster id.
