FREE PRINTABLE GIFT SCAVENGER HUNT BUILDER
Birthdays, holidays, big milestones—or no reason at all. Build a gift hunt around your own hiding places, write the clues your way, then print a little adventure.
Build my gift huntA gift hunt that fits your occasion and your home. Pick 3–8 places, make the clues your own, then print.
Occasions change the printed heading and starter note, not your route. A note you’ve already customized is kept.
Choose one reachable, permitted place. Write a clue that leads to it and precise instructions for the organizer. Never use appliances, water, climbing, fragile objects, or private belongings.

MAKE THE MOMENT YOURS
Build a birthday treasure hunt, an anniversary surprise, or a Valentine’s Day adventure. Turn Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid, Diwali, Lunar New Year or Easter gifts into a sequence of clues that fits your own celebration.
Celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a graduation, wedding, engagement, new baby, new home or retirement. There are thank-you and just-because options, too. For any other moment—a promotion, reunion or welcome home—name your own occasion.
The occasion sets your printed heading and starter note. You control the places, traditions and words; the builder doesn’t assume how you celebrate.
THE SETUP THAT MATTERS
Yes. Add a place with a name, exact hiding instructions and a player clue. You can also edit any built-in clue from the route list. Custom clues apply to both clue styles; use “Restore original clue” to return to the built-in version. Review custom clues before building.
Use “Easy & direct” for clear or read-aloud instructions, or riddles for more mystery. Adapt the hunt to the recipient’s reading and access needs. An adult should check the route and supervise children. Avoid stairs, appliances, water, fragile items, private belongings and any place that requires climbing.
No. Print player cards and the organizer setup key separately. In direct mode, the clue can name its destination, but organizer hiding instructions stay on the key. Keep organizer files and setup links away from the person doing the hunt.
“Save editable hunt” downloads a private JSON file containing your note, custom places and clues. Open it here later to edit and rebuild. Share that file only with another organizer. Printable HTML files work offline; your browser can print them or save PDFs. Nothing is saved to an account.
Custom text may contain names, private locations or personal messages. It is kept out of URLs and analytics. Built-in routes can use organizer setup links without the note; custom setups use private editable files instead. We do not upload your custom text.
The builder checks the number and uniqueness of stops, complete inputs and the card sequence. It cannot understand whether your custom riddle has the intended answer or inspect your home. You must review custom clues and physically walk the route before use.
